CHARITY NAVIGATOR AWARDS BLACKSMITH ITS HIGHEST RATING--4 STARS

Charity Navigator, the largest independent evaluator of the financial health of philanthropic organizations, has awarded a 4-star rating to the Blacksmith Institute, the highest possible rating for sound fiscal management. According to Charity Navigator President Ken Berger, Blacksmith "consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America."

Charity Navigator examines two broad areas of a charity's financial health: how responsibly it functions in its daily operations; and how well it is positioned to sustain its programs over time. It then awards an overall rating, ranging from zero to four stars, as well as an in-depth, objective analysis of fundraising operations. By highlighting the work of well-run charities, donors obtain essential information providing greater confidence in their charitable giving.
